FLINTROL 8240, Light Trap for Flies

Attract:

The bright ultraviolet light emitted by the Flintrol unit is produced by a black light fluorescent lamp coated inside with a phosphor mixture. Harmless to the human eye, this light is most attractive to the widest range of phototropic (light sensitive) flying insects. The etched, bright anodized aluminum reflector increases the intensity of the ultraviolet light while maximizing electro-magnetic energy.

Electrocute:

Upon entering the unit, flying insects are electrocuted by a charged grid, dehydrating and killing the insect instantly. Using a standard 120-volt current, a transformer inside the unit multiplies the voltage about 35 times, giving the electrical grid a controlled 4,000 volts, but only 9 milliamps.

Catch and hold:

A spill-proof collection tray to contain insect remains is included. This tray eliminates the risk of product contamination in any food processing or preparation area. A microswitch automatically cuts off the power source to the units when the tray or protective shield is removed for cleaning or lamp replacement.
